Poly binders are some of the least expensive and most durable binders available.  “Poly” binders are made from polyethylene or polypropylene.  Poly binders are made by die cutting the poly material into the shape and size needed.  Think how a cookie would be made using a cookie cutter.  This is the same principle.  A cutting die simply cuts the poly into the shape and size needed, and then the material is scored to make hinges.  Poly binders can be made with clear pockets, label holders, and business card holders.  

Precision

Polyethylene is a more common and less expensive material than polypropylene.  Polyethylene binders come in many different thicknesses or gauges, starting with a thin, flexible .023ga, and going all the way up to a thick, rigid .110ga.  Polyethylene binders are very durable, making them ideal for industrial applications.  Polyethylene is available is available in many different colors and textures. 

Polypropylene is a more flexible material than polyethylene.  Polypropylene comes in many textures and tints.  This material is very popular for making transparent binders.  Polypropylene binders are most commonly made in .020ga, .030ga, or .045ga thicknesses.

Polyethylene has been used for years to manufacture custom loose-leaf binders.  More recently Polypropylene has become a much larger player in the manufacturing process.  Both materials are versatile and make an array of custom binders.  Custom poly binders are extremely durable and are usually less expensive than vinyl binders.  Here are some types of custom poly binders we have made:

  • Offset printed (cannot be printed on poly thicker than .035ga)
