Turned Edge Binders

Turned edge or “case-made” binders can be made from a wide range of materials. Turned edge binders are made by gluing a cover material such as book cloth, over chipboard or binders board. A matching liner, a standard black liner or a custom liner can be used for the inside of the binder. Turned edge binders are made the same way as a classic hardcover book. The two most commonly used turned edge binders are “litho-wrap” binders and linen binders. Turned edge binders are often made with a matching “slipcase” or box, into which the binder slides.
Litho wrapped binders are an outstanding way to package your information. Preprinted four color offset sheets are wrapped and glued around the chipboard. These can be laminated in a gloss or matte finish which protects the covers. Key products can also add pressure sensitive business card holders, pockets and label holders. Key Products can seal clear pockets on to Vyhde liners and also die cut pockets on the inside.

We also use linens to manufacture turned edge binders. Linens come in different colors, styles and finishes. There are multicolored metallic linens, heavyweight linens suitable for applications requiring extra durability and linens with a silky alluring finish.
We frequently use leather for turned edge binders. We can use imitation, bonded or genuine leather. Leathers are available in different colors and embossing patterns. All leathers make great binder covers and provide excellent tensile strength.
Buckram material is a highly durable material made to meet your turned edge binder needs. Buckram is an ideal material to use for large capacity binders, heavy wear and tear binders and library rebinding catalog covers. Buckram comes in a wide range of colors. Turned edge binders made of buckram can be screened, foil stamped, and debossed.

Kivar material is another durable material. This is also available in a variety of stock colors. Kivar is strong and flexible and is moisture resistant. Kivar can be silk screened, offset printed, foil stamped, and debossed.
Pajco material can be used to turned edge binders. Pajco is available in an array of colors, patterns and embossings. Pajco is a thick non woven paper stock soaked with acrylic latex which makes it strong and flexible.
